Steeped in history with many stories to tell, the Swan Valley is brimming with award-winning boutique wineries and local artisans showcasing the best local produce.

Located on the upper reaches of the Swan River, the Swan Valley wine region features world-class boutique wineries, breweries, distilleries and countless gourmet food producers - all within a 32km loop, making it very easy to see all that the Swan Valley offers within a relaxed day tour from Perth.

Although this region is generally well travelled by tourists, there are plenty of hidden gems to be discovered off the beaten path, and being small group tours, we get access to venues away from the crowds that can't accommodate big bus groups.

WHAT IS THIS REGION KNOWN FOR?

A wine and food enclave with generations of Southern European winemaking tradition, and an important piece of Western Australia's Indigenous and Colonial history.

THE WINE REGION

With almost 200 years of winemaking history under its belt, the Swan Valley is home to the oldest vines in Western Australia. With many stories to tell, most of the vineyards are now run by third or fourth generation winemakers continuing the legacy of their ancestors. As one of the warmest wine regions in Australia, the Swan Valley is one of the few regions able to produce a range of wine styles, from award-winning sparkling right through to world-class fortifieds, all in the one region. Read more about how our Perth wine regions compare here.

Our Swan Valley tours have a variety of options available. You can join others on a shared half day wine tour which is available 'by the seat'. We also offer a premium private Swan Valley wine tour for those looking for a personalised, tailored experience.

LOCAL PRODUCE

Although most well-known for its wine production, there are plenty of other things to taste and discover. Artisan wares and gourmet produce can be found throughout the region - from olive oils, olives, preserves, nuts, local honey and freshly roasted coffee to handmade nougat, gelato and chocolate. These can all be enjoyed on our private Swan Valley food and sights tour, which has the option to include wine tasting.

There is an array of restaurants and eateries, from gourmet fine dining to rustic share plates and wine-friendly platters, all showcasing the best seasonal produce. For those looking to combine both their love of food and wine, try a decadent wine and food pairing.

BEYOND THE WINE...

The Swan Valley can also be enjoyed without alcohol on our private food and sights tour, and for those looking for the ultimate Aussie wildlife experience take a look at our Swan Valley tour that includes Caversham Wildlife Park. This is the ideal place to get up close to a koala or feed a kangaroo - amongst many other experiences.
