Many of the great red wines of the world are blends of several grape varietals, or grapes from different regions or vintages. Think Châteauneuf-du-Pape, famous Bordeaux wines, Spanish Rioja, and even Penfolds Grange.
Blending is an art that involves combining grape varieties with natural synergies, whose different strengths come together to create a more complete wine with enhanced flavour, aroma, and complexity. A perfectly balanced blend results in a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts. Do you have what it takes?
On our ‘Blend Your Own Wine’ tour we head to an award winning winemaking team in the Bickley Valley, where guests will go behind-the-scenes and into the winery to take part in a hands-on red wine blending workshop. Working with the winemakers to craft their ‘perfect blend’, this personalised wine tasting journey guides you through a series of different red wine grape varietals and the art of blending to create balanced acidity, fruit flavours and tannin. You will take on the role of winemaker to create your own signature blend to bottle and take home. Of course, this YOUR perfect blend, so there is no right or wrong result.

After you have mastered the art of wine blending, we will head across the Bickley Valley for a relaxed winery lunch. You'll sample their estate grown varietals, then enjoy a European-style grazing lunch of cured meats, antipasto, cheeses and Flammkuchen, followed by dessert, overlooking the vineyard and valley.
Price includes pick-up/drop-off, wine tastings, a wine blending workshop with a 750ml bottle of your blend to take home, lunch and dessert overlooking the picturesque vineyards, and cheese to snack on during the workshop.
NOTE: Friday tours will start with lunch and finish with the wine blending workshop.
